Ec, Born in Blitar, East Java, on February 25, 1943, age 66 years) is the Governor of Bank Indonesia from May 17, 2008 - May 17, 2009. He resigned as Governor of Bank Indonesia regarding his nomination as Vice President of Candidates for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the Presidential Election 2009.

He was previously the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Boediono appointed as Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs at the United Indonesia Cabinet (5 December 2005 - May 17, 2008). Boediono also served Indonesian Finance Minister in the cabinet �gotong-royong�(2001-2004) in the reign of President Megawati Sukarnoputri. Earlier in the Development of Reform Cabinet (1998-1999) led by President BJ Habibie, Boediono served as Minister of State for National Development Planning / Head of Bappenas . He also served as Director of Bank Indonesia in the reign of Soeharto. Currently he also teaches at the Faculty of Economics, Gadjah Mada University, in this university, he was also appointed as Professor. Government Careers
1. Boediono was first appointed as a minister in 1998 in the Development of Reform Cabinet as Minister of State for National Development Planning. A year later, when the transitional cabinet and the leadership of President BJ Habibie to Abdurrahman Wahid, he was replaced by Kwik Kian Gie.
2. He was re-appointed as Minister of Finance in 2001 in the cabinet Gotong Royong to replace Rizal Ramli. As Minister of Finance in the cabinet Gotong Royong, he took Indonesia out of the International Monetary Fund aid and and end to cooperation with the agency. By Business Week, he was regarded as one of the most outstanding ministers in the cabinet. In the cabinet, he along with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti so-called as The Dream Team because they were considered successful in strengthening Indonesia's macroeconomic stability that has not fully recovered from a Monetary Crisis of 1998. He also managed to stabilize the rupiah exchange rate in the range of Rp 9,000 rate / dollar.
When Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was elected as the president, many people think that Boediono will be retained in office, but its position was occupied by Jusuf Anwar. According to the reports, Boediono actually been asked by President Yudhoyono to survive, but he chose to rest and go back to teaching.
3. When President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono revamp (reshuffle) the cabinet on December 5, 2005, Boediono was appointed to replace Aburizal Bakrie as Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs. The indications that Boediono will replace Aburizal Bakrie responded very positively by the market since the previous day with the strengthening of CSPI and the rupiah currency. The rupiah strengthened to below Rp 10,000 per U.S. dollar. Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI) on the BEJ is also closed higher up to 23.046 points (up to about 2 percent) and is in the position of 1119.417, broke through the level of 1100 [8]. This is because Boediono considered able to manage the macro-economy at that time did not support the recovery of real sector and monetary.
On 9 April 2008, the houses of parliament authorize Boediono as the Governor of Bank Indonesia to replace Burhanuddin Abdullah. He is the only candidate proposed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his appointment is supported by Burhanuddin Abdullah, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry or Kadin, as well as all members of the House of parliament except the PDI-P faction
