Guruh Soekarnoputra was born in Jakarta, on January 13, 1953 with a name of Mohammad Guruh Irianto Sukarnoputra. The youngest son of the couple Ir. Sukarno, Indonesia's first president with Fatmawati, known as an artist and also politician. Guruh loves art and literature, since he was five yearsold he has been lerarning Javanese, Sundanese, Balinese dance form a boy band, playing piano and perform a dance in stage. The Guruh formed a band called The Beat G in 1965, and released his debut album, GURUH GYPSI in 1975 containing a blend of Balinese gamelan music. On March 27, 1977 Guruh established SWARA MAHARDDHIKA, although later in 1987 turned into the SWARA MAHARDDHIKA FOUNDATION. In 1989 Guruh established PT. GENCAR SEMARAK PERKASA (GSP). His artistic expression then performed in a Masterpiece of Guruh Soekarno Putra in 1979. Then in 1980 held the 2nd performance of Guruh Soekarno Masterpiece UNTUKMU INDONESAIKU and produced semi-documentary film UNTUKMU INDONESIAKU. The third performance of Guruh Soekarno Masterpiece CINTA INDONESIA and the fourth performance of Guruh Soekarno Masterpiece GILANG INDONESIA GEMILANG held in 1986. In 1987 held a colossal performances JAK JAK JAK JAKARTA under the framework of the 462 years Jakarta anniversary and the Colosal Performance of GEMPITA SWARA MAHARDDHIKA commemorating the 10 years of Swara Mahardika. His role in film shown by Guruh in the backstage became an illustrator of film musician for ALI TOPAN ANAK JALANAN, GITA CINTA DARI SMA, PUSPA INDAH TAMAN HATI, but Guruh also had once performed in a film such as Sunan Muria in the SEMBILAN WALI in 1985. His performance carved in form of song composition titled RENJANA in the National Popular Song Festival in 1976, and represented Indonesia in the World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo Japan and won the Kawakami Award and Audience Selections Award with his song KEMBALIKAN BALIKU, he also won for popular song festival at the National Level in 1987, and music illustration in the Indonesian film festival in 1978 in Ujung Pandang.
